Who is Carol?

Carol on a hillHello. I’m the ‘Carol’ behind ‘Carol’s 10,000 feet Triple Challenge: jump, swim, climb‘. Eight months ago I starting working as a Postwoman for Royal Mail. I’m based in the Lake District, Cumbria – possibly the best outdoor ‘office’ in the UK! I quickly learnt that charity fundraising is an important part of the Royal Mail employee culture. I like this. So, when I found out that this year’s Royal Mail ‘Charity of the Year’ is the Stroke Association I decided that I would get involved. Sadly, both my Nan and my Gran died of stroke related illnesses. The theme of my fundraising challenge is the distance of 10,000 feet. I’m aiming to complete a tandem skydive from 10,000 feet, swim 2-miles (10,560 feet) in a lake, and climb a 10,141 foot mountain in the French Pyrenees. I have no doubt that I will suffer all sorts of fear and exhaustion but I’m determined to complete all three challenges this year (in April/June 2015). But the main challenge, and the most important, is to raise as much money as possible for the Stroke Association. I hope you enjoy finding out more about the challenge here, and if just one thing has engaged you then please consider making a charitable donation by following the link below. Many thanks, Carol.
